black baton with silver fittings; conical body made of French-polished wood; grip fitting decorated with an impressed coil and twig motif; at 1/3 of the length, a silver ring with an oval inscription frame, impressed with a twig pattern similar to that on the tip fitting. Marks on silver: maker’s mark E·N (Ebenezer Newman & Co.?), no indication of silver fineness. The baton is nearly identical and comes from the same period as baton JSW 99 in the same collection, with silver fittings and mark of the same silversmith
