Black baton with silver fittings; conical body made of dark, French-polished wood; conical grip fitting with a flat top; at 1/3 of the length, a silver ring with an engraved inscription; rounded tip fitting; all silver parts decorated with an elaborate engraved trifoliate floral pattern. Hallmarked in London in 1901, silversmith’s mark partly illegible: E·…[N?], in a rectangular frame. This commemorative baton was dedicated to J. Pemberton by the members of The Diamond Jubilee Band in 1901.
