black conical body with ivory tips; the grip rounded on the tip, decorated with three intricate, engraved rings; similarly, the elongated opposite tip made of ivory is decorated with three engraved rings; the base of the baton is encrusted with round elements made of mother of pearl; attached to the mid-section of the baton is a narrow and long metal band with engraved  floral patterns and an inscription plate
