Ebony baton adorned with silver fittings, and a widening ferrule on the grip with impressed oak leaves with acorns, and a smooth tip with an engraved inscription (a monogram with a date); goldsmith’s marks (barely legible) indicate silver hallmark 800 of Austro-Hungarian make; the baton was probably presented to a conductor initialed KR on an anniversary celebrated on 4 November 1909
