white, two-piece baton, screwed together; conical body made of ivory; octagonal brass fitting on the grip, widening at the end and finished with a small knob, impressed with a floral motif on the sides, with an inscription frame; tip fitting plain, unadorned; no hallmarks. Similar exhibits can be found in the same collection under inventory numbers JSW 104, 168, 93. The baton was owned by the conductor John Spence Waddell. The baton comes with a decorative case and four silver, commemorative medallions with inscriptions mentioning the awards won by the conductor. Three medallions have the same, shield-like shape, engraved with a floral motif, with identical inscriptions on the obverse and different on the reverse.; Dimensions 3,9 cm x 2,7 cm; fourth medallion has a round shape with a lyre motif at centre, accompanied with laurel branches and a scroll of notes; sides decorated with a floral motif; inscription on the reverse; Dimensions 3,7 x 2,9 cm
