Black baton with elaborately decorated silver fittings; conical body made of dark, French-polished wood; grip with a widening fitting, convex on top, repoussed with wavy lines, similarly to the remaining silver components, i.e. grip fitting and inscription ring at 1/3 of the length. Hallmarked in Chester in 1895, silversmith’s mark EN (Ebenezer Newman & Co.?); one of the most stunning batons in the collection
