Black baton with silver fittings engraved with a characteristic leaf motif; conical body made of lacquered or black-painted wood; silver grip fitting and inscription ring midway through the baton both have octagonal sections; all silver components engraved with a leaf pattern with a simplified, geometrical form (a similar motif on octagonal fittings can be found in several other batons from the same collections, i.e. nos. 11, 100, 101, 112, and in no. 162 on a different fitting). Hallmarked in London in 1910, silversmith’s mark OO. The baton was presented to Madame Marie Evans by her choir on 20 January 1914.
